iOS Developer Advocate

Remote (GMT-8 / GMT+2)




As an iOS Developer Advocate at Nexmo your main responsibilities will be to build relationships within iOS communities through learning, creating, sharing and helping others. You will be the interface between developer communities and the Nexmo product teams to ensure that Nexmo continues to build products that provide a great developer experience. You will demonstrate the benefits of communications functionality and inspire others to innovate with them.

Essential:

  • Empathy
  • 3+ years professional development experience in Objective-C and subsequently Swift
  • Experience of writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience
  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub (or similar collaborative platforms)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of developer communities and events
  • Experience of giving technical talks within an organisation, at meetups or at events

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain iOS demos, quick start samples, example apps and other developer productivity tools in Swift (or Objective-C)
  • Help Nexmo become a core part of the iOS developer community
  • Contribute to and provide feedback on APIs, SDKs, documentation and product functionality through hands-on development, individual opinion, discussions with the developer community and by organising and running beta/alpha programmes
  • Build and document open source prototypes to demonstrate using Nexmo APIs in conjunction with complementary technologies
  • Represent yourself and Nexmo at Hackathons, on sponsorship booths, at meetups and conferences and by giving talks
  • Provide support via channels such as Twitter, StackOverflow and GitHub
  • Write blog posts and tutorials, and use social media in order to share knowledge, request feedback, collaborate and engage with fellow developers
  • Support early adopters and customers with integrations
  • Create opportunities for other Nexmo employees to engage with developer communities

Nice to have:

  • Experience in other languages
  • Previous experience in an advocacy role
